University of Iringa had official Opening Ceremony for Kiota Hub 3rd November 2016. The space was inaugurated by Director of Communication, MWTC, Clarence Ichwekeleza together with Ambassador of Finland Mr. Pekka Hukka. The Development Policy Committee of Finland led by the Chairperson Aila Paloniemi (MP) was also present at this celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Kiota Hub managers Jocelyne Msigwa and Mohamed Shellimoh presented Kiota Hub and current activities run there. Deo Sabokwigina presented collaboration between University of Iringa and TANZICT focusing on the main achievement the BAME curriculum which is based on the Team Academy concept. CTA Michael Hawkes presented another Finnish funded project Private Forestry Programme (Panda Miti Kibiashara, http://www.privateforestry.or.tz/en) which is based in Iringa and operating in Southern Highlands. CTA Teemu Seppälä briefed about Innovation Spaces, how it all started in Finland and what has been the recent development of innovation spaces in Tanzania during TANZICT. Kiota Hub is new innovation space located in University of Iringa main campus at the Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation building. The space is open for all neighboring communities and idea is that different innovation events and training programs will be provided for various audiences and needs.
